Team Description


The Localization Team at Prodifi is dedicated to bringing Korean web novels to a global audience by adapting stories for readers around the world. Our work goes beyond simple translation; we strive to deliver a reading experience that feels just as natural and captivating in English as it does in the original language. Our editors and project managers work closely with one another to make this possible.


Job Description


As a Web Novel Localization QA Editor, you will work with other in-house editors, project managers, vendors, and freelancers to quality-check and finalize content for publishing. You will also play a key role in developing QA guidelines, training new collaborators, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output across multiple series.


The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills, excellent editorial judgment, the ability to work comfortably with others, and the capacity to balance detail-oriented quality control with efficient workflow management.


This is a 1-year contract position.


Responsibilities

  • Review and finalize translated web novel content for publishing
  • Train vendors and freelancers to meet quality standards
  • Develop, update, and refine QA guidelines
  • Manage external resources, including hiring freelancers, and overseeing the training and evaluation of freelancers and vendors
  • Work with internal stakeholders to monitor project progress, quality standards, and any QA-related issues


Required Qualifications

  • Native English speaker
  • Excellent command of American English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a solid grasp of narrative tone and flow
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and resolve inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and issues with readability or tone in localized translations
  • Intermediate proficiency in Korean (reading and speaking)
  • Professional experience in proofreading or editing
  • Strong communication skills for providing feedback and training to peers, vendors, and freelancers
  • Valid visa status to work in Korea


Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience localizing translated content
  • Familiarity with English fiction writing and storytelling conventions
  • Experience working with web novels or other serialized fiction
  • Strong understanding of North American culture, as well as some familiarity with Korean cultural references and norms
  • Experience using EPUB editors or creating EPUB files
